道德经和美国宪法的关系，是都1）很短，2）影响深且远；两股八竿子打不到的历史文化流， 殊途同归.

道德经与宪法的第四个共同点是understanding scale.   为什么presidential election 总是非常close?  但是很多地方州election却长期一边倒？难道scale不同，"mandate"也不同？无知到“智”，“无天命”到“天命”，不敢到”敢“，有没有state change?   老子在周都看见了什么“state change”促成他出关的决定？

我们课近期的焦点是华人。很多华人，即使高等教育Phd，身居重职, 却因为缺美国初中生学的宪法课，不懂高中生学的各种social aggression/self defense behavior， 以至于吃大亏。   这个“头重脚轻”的现象，基本上只有华人有，非华人感到难以理解。  与其强求外人理解，不如先把华人该补的课给补上。

比如王先生在BUS的经历，很多华人旁观者都像是无动于衷。 非华人看，可能觉得华人麻木不仁。 华人却知道： 很多华人压根没有这些”甄别紧急事件“，”应急“，“萍水相逢，互相照顾“，”见事不好，马上救援“的教育。 即使到了美国，华人依然对”政府“有很强的“巨婴”依赖恐惧症。 所以我们课就是要让华人意识到：”时过境迁，刻舟求剑行不通。” 我们先学宪法，再学团队。

谢谢@hazel   宪法和道德经同属于”不点人名“的经典奇书。 与道德经同时的著作多数喜欢name dropping，人物为主，或为楷模，或为反派。 关尹喜求老子留书的时候，他的问题业已失传。  我们来替他恢复原问题。  第一个问题：”请史学大拿老子为我们普及升官之道“。   老子的回答是”道可道非常道“。  关尹喜继续问： ”请史学大拿老子为我们讲王朝名人轶事“。  老子的回答是”名可名非常名“。

@如如不動  谢谢你现身说法，教育华裔社区。“其安易持，其未兆易谋；其脆易泮①，其微易散。为之于未有，治之于未乱。”  － 道德经   bully一般有先兆，有前科，有发展可循，“其安易持，其未兆易谋”。打回去，告诉老师；都可行，但是都不如组织训练团队，“为之于未有，治之于未乱”。

谢谢分享@灰姑娘。  绝圣弃智，指领导者上层社会风气，需要返璞归真。  上有所好，下必甚焉。上不求真，下好造假。上梁不正下梁歪。 这种错误虚假会积累， 粉饰太平可以几年几十年，甚至几百年，最后灾难性地倾覆。这是古代中国的治乱周期的深层原因。 老子早有预知，也有解决方法。 本不至于2000年的中国原地踏步。 绝圣弃智， 求真务实。 这就是道家的道德提倡。“绝圣弃智”是道家的独特传统。也是和儒家最大不同。 人性复杂不是性本“善”可以概括的。 “上有所好，下必甚焉”，“虚假积累”， 粉饰太平，这些都是必然的群体现象。道家启蒙是古代领袖的重要一课（汉文帝，窦太后，谢安，王导，李泌，范蠡，管仲），因为道家平衡儒家的简单道德构设。 若说儒家是古代建筑的风光无限的梁，道家是底下无为务实，并限制集权的基础。“含德之厚，比于赤子”。 即使孔子，也说“诗三百 一言以蔽之 思无邪”。 王羲之，也是“一郎在东床上坦腹卧，如不闻。”     古人的道教精神风貌率性坦荡。

The Founders (and writers of the US Constitution) were also aware of the same problems: when power generate its own "reality bubble" and collapse on its own cool-aid.   The Founders' solution was to check and balance every Constitutional power branches (Legislative, Judicial, Executive), and in addition set the States government and Free religion and Free Press to watch over the federal powers.
