DDJ 45. 清静为天下正

第四十五章
[原文]

大成①若缺，其用不弊。大盈若冲②，其用不穷。大直若屈③，大巧若拙，大辩若讷④。静胜躁，寒胜热⑤。清静为天下正⑥。

[译文]

最完满的东西，好似有残缺一样，但它的作用永远不会衰竭；最充盈的东西，好似是空虚一样，但是它的作用是不会穷尽的。最正直的东西，好似有弯曲一样；最灵巧的东西，好似最笨拙的；最卓越的辩才，好似不善言辞一样。清静克服扰动，赛冷克服暑热。清静无为才能统治天下。

"清静为天下正"。  清静为纯直，公正，客观。 反之，巧言令色，抗声疾呼，自夸自恨，偏私偏信，声色犬马。

There are several entities working together on the Presidential Election: Congress, State legislatures, Electoral college, and later on, Parties.  The Constitution tried to limit opportunity and motivation of conspiracy and corruption.   Tao Te Ching, like the Constitution, told us what is good for us, but we must still go through 2000 years of awfulness to understand the simple good.
